LTC James P. Corbin, GAARNG

LTC James Corbin, originally from Asheville, N.C., commissioned as a Second Lieutenant from the Corps of Cadets at North Georgia College with a B.A. in Political Science. He spent the next 10 ½ years on active duty as a Cavalry Officer, where he deployed three times in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. While on active duty, LTC Corbin was selected as one of only 25 officers to participate in the inaugural Strategic Studies Fellowship Program. In that program, he studied under the Faculty of the Kenan-Flagler Business School at UNC-Chapel Hill and the Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University, and developed his desire to work in education.
 
In June 2013, LTC Corbin transferred to the GA Army National Guard and joined the staff of Riverside Military Academy as the Assistant Commandant of Cadets - Operations.  Shortly thereafter, he assumed the responsibility of Dean of Enrollment Management and Financial Aid. 
 
In his spare time, LTC Corbin enjoys spending time with his three children and his wife Chassie, who is a Science Teacher on Riverside’s exceptional faculty. LTC Corbin is an avid songwriter and has released multiple albums and has a passion for working with teenagers and their families. He is in the process of completing requirements for a M.S. in Global and International Education from Drexel University and is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.
